I looked in shock at Ben in my body. He was also horrified about what we just heard.

'What IP do you most want to see in Magic the Gathering?' Thunderwoodd: Stormlight Archive!

thyfoolish1: Brandon said they reached out to him and he was excited and ready to go but they haven't gotten back to him. I think this was Dragonsteel last year. So there is hope.

Egi_: Even after the shitshow with the free book he gave them on the condition it wouldn't be commercialized and then WotC commercialized it?

Brandon Sanderson: I knew what I was getting into working with a big corporation. Like the proverbial frog giving a ride to a scorpion, I don't see justification for complaint regarding the eventual sting. I love the game, and the designers, so that's really my metric. As a note, everyone I worked with on the narrative team was wonderful.

I don't want a passing secret lair of five cards; I am interested in a full-blown set, so with that constraint, I wouldn't foresee a Stormlight or Mistborn crossover until one of several things happens:

1) They burn through the bigger properties that match MTG's vibe like LOTR did. Fantasy, or science fantasy, properties that feel legit as a big expansions. As mentioned in this thread alone, there is a pretty deep mine there. Dune, Witcher, Elder Scrolls, Arcane/LoL, Westeros (if they're feeling spicy.) A hobbit set is all but inevitable as well.

Considering they'd be unwise to put these sorts of things out too quickly, and should really give them time to breathe, we're looking at ten years easily before they're out of larger fish to fry. Stormlight is big for a book series, but without any shows/films/games, I'd suspect it doesn't have the casual word-of-mouth reach their marketing team looks for to justify the extra expense of licensing fees.

2) Said bigger properties decide they aren't interested, leaving things popular but without media representation. If they ever decided to experiment with a book-only series, I suspect I'd be very high on the list to approach.

3) Cosmere gets one of said media properties, something I'm actively trying to accomplish--but it is slow going, as I'm in the fortunate position of being able to be very picky about partners, and prefer to take my time.

I've made it clear to them that if a large-scale set were in the, ahem, cards, I'd be willing to make frequent trips to Seattle to be part of the design team on said set.

awakenedjunkofigure: If any author deserves the pick of the litter for production companies, it's absolutely you. Can't wait to see what your books would look like on-screen!!

Brandon Sanderson: Well, the answer to what they'd look like on screen is "Expensive," which a part of the problem...

schloopers: Any large consideration in your mind for spoilers versus fully representing a world or story?

Stormlight you’d of course want all 10 Orders, so spoilers are far as those are concerned are a given.

But maybe a legendary creature “Iron Eyes” instead of any spoiler specific proper names?

I ask because I have so far gotten one friend in the playgroup to start reading, and a couple full sets would for sure help in garnering interest, but I would worry for the story beats getting too greatly revealed out of context.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just unavoidable. I’ve had several Dr. Who episodes “spoiled” for me through that set.

Brandon Sanderson:  This is something I haven't given a lot of thought toward, but I perhaps should be mulling it over. You make a good point.

Thunderwoodd: Woah! Can’t believe you responded. Huge fan! And I loved your commander cube! Saw it on Game Knights right after I finished Rhythm of War.

Curious, do you think the Radiant orders could correspond to guilds or color wedges?

Brandon Sanderson: Yes, I've done thought experiments on that, and think guilds could actively work for them without too much trouble. Problem is, would we want a Stormlight set or just a Knights Radiant set, because ten guilds for ten orders is already a high demand. It might be better to make a wedge set, but the problem there is that the Radiants are actively all colors, so it would be hard to cut out any save black. (Willshaper individuality and artistic expression could be green red instead of red black, for example.) So maybe five four-color wedges? I think the lore could support this, and be something that MTG has had trouble conveying without the expansive worldbuilding an entire book series could provide.

Radiants and sapient spren (all but black, to indicate the inherent selfless Radiant cause)

Human Nations (all but green, to indicate triumph over nature, which is an antagonist on Roshar.)

Singers (All but blue, to indicate the lack of ability to plan for the future, dearth of scholars, and onset of madness in the fused.)

Non-sapient Spren and wildlife (All but white, to indicate lack of overriding societal structures.)

Secret Societies (All but red, indicting the deliberate and conscious planning of these groups.)

Four color signpost uncommons would be WILD, even with hybrid mana. So I can see the design team balking. This (four color guild set) is almost certainly something they've explored and specifically decided not to do.

mediocreattbest: It’s crazy coming onto this post to say “any cosmere set!” And then see you actually replying. Out of curiosity, would you prefer just a stormlight set or a cosmere-wide set? I’d love to see characters through their stories (like we had with the LotR set)

Brandon Sanderson: I'd prefer Stormlight or Mistborn alone, as the planets themselves are so much a part of the stories.

I'm sorry to say I don't share your passion for Netflix version of Witcher. But I do love the books and Joey Batey and his Jaskier. So since I won't be watching s3 I'll very much appreciate seeing glimpses of it through your posts, so don't be shy!

i'm actually right there with you LOL what happened to me is that i watched season 1 and developed a crazy hyperfixation and got extremely attached to jaskier as a concept (genuinely he's a top character of all time to me.) and played the witcher 3 the wild hunt for over 200 hours in like. a month? i haven't read the books! or i've started one. and i own two of them. when season 2 came out i said okay this was mid. but burn butcher burn was like my top 2 song of the year on spotify wrapped. and season 3. well. i hate season 3. i think genuinely i would rather have jaskier be queerbait than have him have a bisexuality storyline with RADOVID........THE FASCIST. it's like the showrunners don't know i killed him in the optional game quest. and he didn't even have a big ballad ......... WHATEVERRRRRR. anyway im an optimist #optimist and also i very rarely don't finish things i start so i will be tuned in for season 4 for better or worse. idk why in my mind i'm thinking liam being geralt will fix some of the show's really bad writing but again. #theoptimist

Craziest crossover:

The only crossover I've ever written is an unfinished fic that's a crossover of The witcher and Skyrim... one day I shall finish it. The idea behind it is to make it a chose your own adventure kind of fic. You'll get a different ending depending on your choices, won't be anything crazy, just about two, maybe three endings and nothing so complicated since I'm not that great of a writer to pull off something more elaborated.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of and if you ever find my stuff outside of Tumblr or AO3, report it, that's definitely not me.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I don't think so, no one has asked for permission. Maybe one day I'll translate some of my fics to spanish since it's my first language.

Haha, yes! I've written more than one fic and have quite a few wips with the lovely @made-ofmemories I've had so much fun writing with her. I've loved so many of the stuff she's come up with. (We always end up with new wips whenever someone has and idea.)

That'll be difficult, I have A LOT of ships and I just cycle through them. But right now, Buddie.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I may have more than one, they're old reader inserts that I'm not sure I'll finish since the flame for those characters is pretty low.

Dialogue.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Descriptive text, I can see the stuff happening in my head as if it's a movie but I struggle so much to turn what's happening there into words. Even more so make it sound beautiful.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

For my fics, if I know the languageand the character(s) have also used the language, hell yes, you'll see some phrases. And on that note the only other language I know is my first language which is Spanish, so yeah. Not comfortable using a translator or dictionary for any other language.

First fandom you wrote in?

Like ever? I don't know, I started writing in middle school. oh! i just remembered! It was for an anime, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch... and it was, it was really bad.

Ok so what if I made a list of things I started at some point in the past like five years or so and haven't finished but am still pretending I'll get back to them eventually? Maybe that would be interesting to literally no one but me, which is good enough.

The Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games ever. I'm like 90 hours into it, have at least twice that left to go, and I haven't touched it in like three years. Like most of the rest of this first section the main problem is that it's on my computer, and being able to sit comfortably in a way that doesn't injure myself while also being able to see the screen isn't going well these days.

Tales of Berseria is also a lot of fun, but it has the computer problem. I need more Magilou because she's such a gremlin.

Final Fantasy 13-2 is definitely my favorite post-12 FF game and might even be the one I've had the most fun with since 6, 7, and 8. Alas, computer.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is a very silly crossover that feels like it shouldn't exist. I keep saying I'll go back and finish the rest of the storylines, but computer and also I just haven't had a strong desire to yet. I did figure out that I can win fights using an old Guitar Hero guitar though, so that was fun.

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is something I started after finally getting caught up on the manga after years and years, because I tend to like Warriors/Musou games when I'm in the right mood. It's decent but not amazing, which hasn't motivated me to get past the computer issue.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is technically also a computer thing because I was playing it in Cemu. It gets extra bonus points for being hard to see because the text and UI are so small, but also I managed to break my save file like 70 hours in and haven't gotten around to figuring out what's wrong with it yet. Everything seems fine except my character and the camera get loaded in different locations, and I could probably use the memory editor to reset my location and fix it, but it's not worth the trouble until I can see.

Boyfriend Dungeon is great and I already finished the base game right when it came out, and I've been meaning to go back and do the post-launch stuff they added later and still haven't.

Atelier Ryza finally got good like half a dozen hours in after one of the worst-paced intros I've ever seen, and I haven't worked up the fortitude to try playing more past there so far.

A Slug's Dream has some decent puzzles and I was enjoying it enough, but I totally forgot it even existed. Maybe some day.

Xenogears I also keep forgetting because it's in an emulator on my computer and not somewhere I remember to look to see what game I should play. It sort of bypasses the usual computer problem by being ancient and designed for 480i screens so everything is huge. I'll finish it one of these days.

Ok I think that's all the stuff on the computer. There are a couple others that I'm not including because I only made it like an hour into them before getting sidetracked, so I'll just start them over if I ever go back to them.

3DS next? 3DS next.

Fire Emblem Fates is what's currently in there I think. It's taken multiple years, but I've finished Birthright and most of Conquest. Some day I'll finish that one and then maybe do Revelation. Any year now...

Shadows of Valentia might come back around too. I've had enough of a break to at least partly get over how mediocre a lot of the maps are and how annoying certain enemy types are, and I do want to at least try to finish it for the sake of the story, just not while I'm in the middle of pretending to play Fates too.

Shadow Dragon deserves another chance too when I'm in a better frame of mind for it, I just don't know when that'll be.

Radiant Historia is amazing and I really need to get back to it and finish it, and I don't know why my brain keeps not letting me for the past couple years. One of these days it will though, and it'll be great.

Kid Icarus: Uprising is also pretty great, but it's physically painful for me to play. I keep saying I want to try to figure out some way to work around that, but it's been multiple years and I still haven't.

Shovel Knight is one I completely forgot I even have, but it was way better than I expected and I should give it another chance.

Project X Zone is another ridiculous crossover that feels like it shouldn't exist, and it's pretty fun sometimes too, but wow does it really drag sometimes with how long each level is and how many of them there are. I might be able to manage it in smaller chunks though.

Ok Switch gets to be in a separate post or I'm going to run out of tags.

lately i'm posting almost everything i have that i feel "finished" online because it makes dopamine and i could really use that. if we're talking art, i think all the art i've got is posted online. if we're talking texts... well. most? some i have but again, few people are interested in them compared to art, so i post them more rarely.

one for them is inspiration for RRR. it's quite old one, it was made a few years ago.

now the unpleasant stuff: i'm ashamed to admit but it has songs from a folk group called Melnista. which is ruzzian. they were somewhat against the war... but not too vocally. maybe afraid. dunno. them being against it is the sole reason i've not deleted the playlist alltogether. i haven't edited the playlist since i have to be honest that those were the inspirations, but... i'm very torn on this one and whether or not i should edit it and remove all of those. so... yeah

oh dear... probably soulmates. finding someone you feel welcome with, even if it's through shit, dirt and blood - either your own, or someone else's. importance of physical touches. found family of horrible people for horrible people who manage to work through their shit and become better while still perceiving themselves as horrible people. lights. undying loyalty, often betrayed because and by another undying loyalty.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Well this is sorta easy with only 6 works in total. BUT. His Sweet Kiss (Geraskier fluff), Letters from a lover (compilation of short letters from characters), If I could be with you tonight (Gyro angst), Ties that Bind (Dio fic...... that I uhhh,,, haven't continued. Whoops) and Phantom Pains / Fleurs Captives (Diabeth angst) !!!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes! I do try to! I don't get them very often, mostly because I'm only recently getting back onto writing platforms. But I do try to. I like people who enjoy my works to know the support is appreciated.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Definitely Phantom Pains. Out-of-the-blue Diabeth angst ending in grief and regret... I do love writing angst and I don't shy away from sad endings either! Although I do love a good happy end too <3

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Speaking of.... His Sweet Kiss is definitely the happiest one, at least so far. My lost-to-time fics from the Wattpad era weren't exactly happy, so I think a fluffy mess like HSK is the best right now.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not yet. Yet. It'll happen eventually I'm sure.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do! I have yet to publish any of it, though. Mostly because I am incredibly picky when it comes to smut, and by extension incredibly finicky with my own smutty works. As for what kind? Ah... a mix.

10. Do you write crossovers? I don't. I don't even think I'd necessarily consider it for anything other than a crackfic.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I have not! But I have had people copy my writing suspiciously closely.

15. What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Oh god, the Dio fic I started and then never continued. It was meant to be a look into Diabeth over the years but I changed a lot of things since I started it, so I may have to scrap the whole thing and restart.

16. What are your writing strengths? Description. I love describing things and spaces and people more than anything and I think that love has lead to a lot of practice. I can be a little flowery at times but I don't particularly mind it. It's not for everyone, though.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogue. I never know how much to have people say or not say. It's something I need to practice. On the flipside, sometimes I have characters say too much and then I completely neglect action. I just need to get better with it all-round.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I do it! And I respect other writers who have the balls to do it (and potentially cock it up). I tend to check, and double/triple check it.

19. First fandom you wrote for? If I'm being honest it was probably Skullduggery Pleasant, back before I even knew Fanfiction was a thing. And I read it out in front of my class at the time. I think I was about 10.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? Honestly? Every since I wrote Phantom Pains it's been my pride and joy. I really love my use of description and imagery and tone in that one specifically. I just really love it.

A scent you love: - sandalwood. i could be in the saltiest, shittiest, most tin-foil-chewing mood and upon smelling this, i would relax from grievous homicide to involuntary manslaughter. which is a very tortured metaphor but it's a weird day for me. suffice to say i love sandalwood.

What's something you're looking forward to this week? - i would dearly love to write this weekend. been wanting to actually get something actualised before the weather starts thinking of hoodies and pumpkin spice lattes. also i need to go to the library because i need new music; mine's getting rather stale.

What's a book you're currently reading? - i am so very sorry to say that i have not read an actual book in *mumblemumble* amount of time. a few years back i had sort of run dry on books that i was enjoying, and my tastes changed; i dove into fanfic and haven't really looked back since. it is still scratching that itch that i can't really describe. to be quite honest i think the last book-book i read was the latest Dresden Files instalment--and before anyone comes for me, yes, i am quite aware of Butcher's...uh. writing tells, let's call them. man's become a pastiche of himself, tell the truth.

What's a game you're currently playing? - The Outer Worlds, for, like, the fifth time. love Parvati; that woman can do no wrong in my eyes. tried doing a Board-bootlicker run a while back and then she looked at me all disappointed and my contrition knew no end. and i adore Felix wholeheartedly because that Labrador of a boy is the purest of heart and dumbest of ass and he makes me smile. ...also, i'm just killing time until next week when i can get my narsty little gremlin hands on Baldur's Gate 3.

What's the most recent movie you watched? - Nimona. if you haven't seen it, drop what you're doing and watch it immediately. now. go. why are you still sitting there? go watch it! okay, no, seriously--why aren't more films made like this? it doesn't talk down to kids or families (or anyone else for that matter), it is wholly unashamed of its emotions and finds joy in showing them (even the messier ones), the art is beautiful and vibrant and isn't half-arsed and crap CGI stitched with hand-drawn; it has a fantastic message, and when Ballister said 'I see you, Nimona,' i sat here and fucking bawled.

Are you watching anything on TV or listening to any shows? - i recently finished S3 of The Witcher on Netflix, and...well, i think i'd have to watch again to really start to pick at it and why it didn't particularly vibe for me (the nonsense with Radovid and Jaskier aside; i mean...Radovid? really? blech). i haven't read the books but i am familiar with the lore, but the writing seems to be so uncertain of itself this season, all over the place and muddled. and with production on pause (not just for TWN, obviously), i'm more than a little uncertain of Liam Hemsworth's stepping into the very big boots Cavill's leaving behind. the bar has been set pretty high; i'd say this of any actor, frankly. as for podcasts, i am sooooooo far behind on listening that i think i would have to start many over. i had been listening to Bahumia Two: Electric Boogaloo on NADDPod but that was months ago. my problem is that i have to be in the mindset to listen to pods (side effect of the ADHD), and right now the mindset is 'put on youtube vids or Japanese lo-fi and read fic in your downtime.' how long this will last is anyone's guess.

Favourite season? - autumn, by far. and i don't mean the soft Pinterest moodboard aesthetic type; i mean the frost upon the windowpane when you wake up in the morning but you don't turn the heat on yet because by noon it'll have warmed up enough kind. i mean the mixing of baking bread, strong coffee, herbal tea and the faintest whiff of cigarette smoke. the knowledge that the wind is just on the edge of turning biting and that its teeth will only grow sharper in a month; when you swap out your summer clothes for woolen blankets and soft pants; when you dig out the thicker yarns and the puzzles and rearrange your spooky house bric-a-brac to take pride of place. that kind of autumn.

What's something you've learned recently? - i have learnt factoids and things that would serve me well at pub trivia, but nothing that would serve to make an interesting infodump. not really. all the stuff i infodump about lately is fandom-adjacent and makes my husband's eyes glaze over.

Have you had any water lately? - yes! i drink water on the regular, interspersed with Baja Blast since summer is hanging on by a thread.

Jaskier and Jesse Pinkman are kind of the same person: Part 1

(Part 1 because I wanted to put pictures for each bulletpoint and the 10 pics per post limit whacked me over the head and stopped me from making one giant post)

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I've seen Breaking Bad only recently and I couldn't help but notice my blorbo from this show is a bit similar to my blorbo from another show.

I've started looking for parallels on purpose after a while, and I've found quite a lot of them, so to take a break from sobbing over contract law, I've made this list comparing my two faves to entertain no one but myself.

Obviously, I did take into consideration that Jaskier is (unfortunately) only a side character, while Jesse is a main character, and that Breaking Bad has gone on for 5 seasons (and there was also a 2 hours long movie focusing on just him), while The Witcher has only had two seasons so far. I'm also only focusing on show Jaskier, not the books/game counterparts of him. So obviously this little analysis suffers from some disadvantages but oh well!

Feel free to add on and express your opinion if your interests in these characters overlap, but I'm absolutely not looking for any arguments (unless it's over something funny like whose pants are the baggiest)!

Contains many spoilers for both shows of course.

Part 2 Part 3

First of all, they both have a lot of empathy and are generally one of the kindest characters on their shows with the biggest heart. Specific example: Jaskier's entire Sandpiper storyline where he's smuggling the elves to safety to save them from persecution, and his kindness and understanding shown towards a magic-less Yennefer when they reunite in Season 2., despite the fact they haven't exactly been on good terms before; also how he's willing to give her the benefit of doubt after she betrays Geralt.

Similarly, Jesse has a special love for kids, so much so that his need to protect them is often used against him. He's also the character who tries to find ways to avoid violence, even when the rest of the characters are already planning murder. He's also the most torn up when he eventually has to hurt someone.

Both can be a little childish/immature (see specifically Jaskier's tug of war with Geralt over the djinn amphora, and Jesse entertaining himself in the lab when Walt cannot come in to work with him), as well as impulsive.

They both have artistic tendencies: Jaskier being the most renowned bard and poet of the Continent, while Jesse draws beautifully and is also passionate about woodworking. We also hear Jesse sing and he has a drumkit in his house.

Kind of going back to my point about their empathy, they always seem to see the best in people, which leads to a certain sense of naivety; especially prevalent in Jesse constantly standing up for Walt and often refusing to even consider he could be harmful, up until the very end.

Point could also stand for the fact that Jaskier has stuck by Geralt's side over twenty years, despite not necessarily being treated the way he deserved, and how he approached him without fear when they first met, not leaving even after he found out he's a witcher (and again, him trying to find reasons to justify Yennefer's choice of giving Ciri over). Also relevant to this point: their extreme loyalty to the people mentioned above, and in general.

Both characters are pretty emotional; Jesse explicitly expresses his feelings by crying quite often throughout the show, while Jaskier's emotions are most prominently shown through his songs (and in some cases, his near-crying, such as the reunion with Geralt and his face after finishing his performance of Burn Butcher Burn).

7. A series you’ve lost interest in It might sound paradoxically absurd, but it's quite the Assassin's Creed series. The way they torn and raped the lore and gameplay mechanincs definitely threw away my slightest consideration. They lost me at Origins, which is a The Witcher 3 wanna be with a nonsense plot in my opinion. And let me say, maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but the series had to end with Syndicate.

This creepy lullaby from Outlast 2 is always on my mind when playing all horror games, don't know why! Jumpscare alert!

A game you didn’t finish but would like to get back to or restart someday Usually if I give up on a game is because it didn't grow on me even after days and days of gameplay, but for Remothered: Broken Porcelain this is not the case. This game was very and badly bugged at the release and still needs to be properly patched at this time, that's why I wasn't able to finish it, but I'd love to play it fluently one day and conclude the story of Jennifer.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits. That game has thaumaturgic places once they're purified from corruption. But also, as a horror passionate, The Suicide of Rachel Foster gave me shivers the whole time, that was perfect!

I would go for AC1! Linear, intuitive, also a bit repetitive (so not that hard to learn) and the story is so good to let anybody understand how deep a videogame's plot can be, just like any other form of art!

Hi! I hope this is okay, but I wanted to send you an ask about “love is heavy”!

I found myself having a really intense and unexpected reaction to the scene with Geralt and Vesemir. Basically, while I was 100% on board with Vesemir drawing a line in the sand and protecting Jaskier - there was admittedly a *small* part of me that was like “okay but you raised him to be this emotionally broken (but won’t say that to him) and are now punishing him for it that’s kinda fucked up���

Which took me by surprise right? Cause like 1) kudos to you for getting that intense of a response out of me and 2) this isn’t eye for an eye and past wrongs don’t mean Vesemir shouldn’t have said anything.

But what it DID make me curious about is if any of *that* was going through your or Vesemir’s head (or any other character too!) when making the decision to have that confrontation? Or is the voice in my head just petty and grudge holding lol

Lastly, I thought you should know that this is my favorite Post-Mountain Fic I’ve ever read and easily like top 3 Witcher fics I’ve ever read and I’m not even finished yet!!!

anyway, re the reaction it got out of you - i'm sorry and you're welcome, lmao. but yeah, the entire point was for this to be not an eye for an eye situation

also i am very much a pleading eyes emoji about that last bit, thank you so much it means a LOT

but for your question: yes, vesemir was! i don't know if you've finished the fic by now, but just in case you haven't, i'll put this under a readmore so if you don't want a sort of spoiler you can come back when you've finished :D (also it got long, oops lmfao)

so the others were not really thinking about that, because they were all raised the same, and are varying levels of poorly-adjusted/oblivious about it. vesemir, though, was - and is - very aware of the ways he's failed his boys, how he and all of his fellows failed them when the school was functioning. he's also aware of how he was failed, and how much of his regrets likely echo the generations of witchers before him - that the elder have been hurting the younger for hundreds of years.

that is part of the reason that he takes jaskier to the dungeons, shows him the "memorial" of dead boys' names, explains that generational trauma and how it lives in all of them, and how much he hates himself for it. vesemir was upset, at the reminder of kaer seren's fall, and he knows that one day, kaer morhen will finally fall the same - it's just a matter of time. he could have just shown jaskier the memorial tree, the medallions and the names on that stone. but he didn't; he chose to admit to his wrongs, to how viciously he failed geralt, because he is viciously aware of that failure.

he didn't make the choice to give geralt that sort of ultimatum lightly. he did not want to punish geralt for a lack that was vesemir's and other witchers' fault. however, he recognized that geralt was in a cycle of self-destruction and self-sabotage that wasn't going to be moved without force. so he gives him a wake-up call.

however, note that vesemir does not make himself the arbiter of this ultimatum - he tells geralt that until jaskier forgives him, until jaskier says he's repaired the damage he did, that he won't be welcome back. that, specifically? that's not just vesemir recognizing that the person geralt hurt should be a part of this - it's him saying that jaskier is the only one of them who can say.

because none of the witchers are well-adjusted. all of them are broken and traumatized and have coping mechanisms that border on self-destruction. jaskier isn't some kind of all-knowing benevlont judge of rightness, but he's much better adjusted than his witchers, and they all know that. he has the emotional intelligence to handle this in a way none of them can. vesemir knows that the clearest, with the benefit of having been one to raise a new generation of witchers that he knows he damaged, and the reflecting realization that his elders damaged him.

vesemir didn't want to give geralt an ultimatum, to punish him - but like the story he tells about geralt and eskel as children, he needed to impress the importance of what he was saying, and he doesn't really know any other way to do it.

I've received your message months ago and had every intent to respond, but a rather intensive contract took my attentions elsewhere. As you well know, letters have a much harder time reaching their intended destination during those months, so I had opted to wait until summer. Of course, there comes the issue of knowing where you are, but I won't disclose the details of how I came about this knowledge, supposing this message were to be compromised. You can probably guess how your whereabouts came to my attentions, anyway. A number of things have come up since we've last spoken. I don't know how I may be able to update you on my life in such a succinct manner. My brothers are all doing well. I've heard you recently found someone? If so, allow me to offer my congratulations! I understand more than anyone the difficulties that come therein for someone of our profession. I am happy to hear there are more people in your life, outside of myself and, well . . . Which, brings me to another matter I feel the need to inform you on. It is . . . rather pressing, and I hope you won't begrudge me for the rather frank manner I speak of it. I know how fond you are of Master Huey, even if my feelings are now to the contrary. Perhaps you may even find this news old. You two were always much closer than I ever was. I am not accusing you of conspiracy, if that is your worry. This is . . . well, truthfully, I need someone to inform. I'd rather leave my brothers out of this, and many of our comrades have either fallen or gone missing. Not that I have kept in contact with any of them. Once our school had collapsed, you were the only person I really bothered to see from time - to - time. But, I'm stalling ( if one can do that, in a letter ). I'll get straight to the point then : Master Huey is alive. Or, rather, I have learned that. Mainly The Witcher. There was some dabbling in other fandoms, but nothing too serious. Even if more popular, as stated below.

The Shift, Bits from the Path, The runner, Reconnecting and Useful.

(which is interesting, because only one of those fics is from The Witcher fandom. As mentioned above.)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Almost always, because I like when authors reply to my comments, I feel appreciated then. I also feel appreciated as an author when I get a comment. So it's replying mostly in thanks. :)

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

One Whumptober ficlet (which had actually an open, potentially tragic ending). I don't really end with angst. I might write some angst in the middle of the fic, but not end with it.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I really like the last chapter of Consequences? Like, it's a feel-good chapter after 10 chapters (and well over 100k words, I think) of a pretty loaded story. But I like positive endings anyway. I just love the overall mood of that one. Felt like a warm blanket after that barrage of anxiety-inducing references to the books (Vilgefortz in a castle...). ;)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thankfully not. I'd probably stop (thinking about) writing.

Tried that twice. One scene was cut, the other I still have to edit in a fic I haven't published (yet).

Summary for this chapter: Perhaps, the woman who happened to be teleported in the world of Jujutsu wasn't exactly the same woman he met back in that certain dimension after all. Would she still be a woman of use or just nugatory as Gojo Satoru could see fit?

Warnings: Mentions of Blood. Wounds. Todo being Todo. This happens in between the Goodwill Event, the Hanami incident. Some words written in Italics between dialogues only would be Romajis's for Japanese or English words being stated by specific characters from time to time. I've kind of shifted some scenes as well. From the moment Juzo Kumiya's curtain was destroyed and Satoru Gojo activating his Hollow Technique: Purple, a gigantic single purple sphere that was bound to obliterate everything in its path and to prevent from Hanami from leaving the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event. The students of Kyoto Jujutsu High and Tokyo Jujutsu High were sure enough that the Special Grade Curse Spirit has been definitely annihilated.

But, not for the strongest sorcerer. He could sense there was more to it, probably even a bunch more surprising events that leave him dwelling that it was still alive.

"Yay! That settles everything!" Satoru gave principal Gakuganji a big thumbs up, completely irking him at the process as he grinned, his teeth radiating under the sunbeam of the early morning. The senile member of the higher-ups in the Jujutsu Society scowled before him, constantly hearing Juzo's pathetic whines and pained moans on the corner. Both sorcerers, leaving him bleeding out of his limbs due to Gojo's rash doing, planning that he was in for an interrogation.

He'd lifted a part of his blindfold, regarding such prodigal solution of his to this gatecrashing disturbance and closely observing if the special grade curse-spirit and curse users were still around the area. The strongest Jujutsu sorcerer was absorbed in his own puzzling thoughts when he suddenly felt something else, making him blink twice.

Another intruder. Though, the emanations it held felt more familiar rather than the aleatory interlopers in the midst of the Goodwill Event.

He'd taken a pause, slightly taking him by surprise but never allowing other people to see through his astonishment, appearing to still remain unfazed by all and keeping himself under his cool, Satoru pointed back at Kyoto Jujutsu High's principal in a smug manner, calling in the shots for a halfly extirpated Juzo laying on the ground, "Principal Gakuganji, you take him out for interrogation, will ya'?"

Yoshinobu Gakuganji couldn't help the twitch form his mouth from his uncivilized talks, thoroughly antagonized by this particular sorcerer's existence and always seeing him as irritating and destructive. Gojo took no heed to his reply and instantaneously left him to his own, warping out of the scene to deal with another commotion that would be worth the bewilderment.

"Tch. This brat." the principal muttered beneath his breath as he deeply sighed.

Aoi Todo stood tall and proud with his chiseled, muscular build radiating beneath the sun's rays. Hands on his hips as he cackled out loud at the exceptional scenery that flashed before their eyes which happened to be Gojo's impractical way of cutting down a problem. The Grade 1 sorcerer was still chuckling as a single drop of sweat fell on the side of his neck, shaking his head from the sudden out turn.

Hanami was about to cast Domain Expansion if it weren't for the curtains which has been quickly destroyed by the man that was prohibited to enter, a curtain that pushed him out of the way to exclude himself in joining in the fun.

Gojo Satoru was never one to miss such ruckus especially when it had his students involved.

"Heh. I knew it. He's still nonstandard as ever." Todo deeply chuckled with a smirk, completely entertained by how Gojo's Hollow Technique crumbled half of Kyoto Jujutsu High into a disintegrating mess, the scene appeared like a large meteor came to ruin mother earth and its beauty, entirely a ramshackle Grand Canyon for the end of a world.

"Todo," Yuji Itadori, The Tiger of West Junior High and a first year student of Tokyo Jujutsu High who happened to be Sukuna's Vessel hollered for his friend's attention, how they quickly became friends on such a short amount of time still gets Itadori wondering what made it happen, "---Is this still Gojo Sensei's doing?"

What stood before them was a bottomless pit of bright abyss, the opposite of how a black hole could've been envisaged. Todo was quick enough to comprehend, its bright luminescence entirely taking them both as it also blinded them along the way. The partners in crime shielded themselves from the vivid streaks, momentarily looking away, squinting their eyes shut as it became drastic with every second.

It was obscuring their visions.

"Spatial Teleportation? No. This doesn't look like it. Unless he has learned something new or have been keeping something under his blindfold---"

In that instant, Todo heard a clamorous reverberation of a truck's horn, seeming to run them over through the blinding abyss. He was quick to revolt against the unforeseen collision and jumped high, the circular chasm closing in at least a second and cutting the Freight truck in half. The third year student couldn't believe his eyes as the scene before them unfold, zooming in on a woman flying out of the void who happened to have collided with the vehicle and appeared to be abominably thrashed by the impact.

"Yuji!" He loudly exclaimed as he was in the air, leaped high enough and hasty to even collide with the vehicle. Itadori's senses were also at high speed and like greased lightning, he'd grabbed you away, prancing to the sides before it has even slammed the both of you, "I got her!"

"Half a truck. Ha!---" Todo commented, guffawing at the unsought intrusion of something they didn't understand. He fell flat on his slippers, sauntering towards the huge truck cut in half. It hit a tree and probably ruined it due to the powerful impact of collision. He noticed that there was no one controlling the vehicle up front, leaving him looking utterly baffled by the accident, "---Where's the driver, then?"

"She's badly battered and bleeding." Itadori brought into the open, stating the obvious as he observed your wounds and bleeding skull. Blood seeped out of a deep, opened wound surrounding the side of your head, hemorrhage transparent and starting to begin for how beaten up you were, crimson liquid flowing down and probably staining his school uniform more than he even did to himself even after the fight with Hanami.

"We need to get her to Shoko-Senpai." He added and stood up, taking no sweat in carrying you in both his arms, determined to take a run for it to save your life as he gave Todo a glance, skeptical why the muscle-bound man has an expression of distrust.

"A woman who we don't know and who's certainly not Takada," Todo scoffed with a grin, crossing his burly arms as he closely observed you in curiosity, trying to see if you were a sorcerer, non-sorcerer or a cursed spirit.

An uncalled school of thought distracted him from the unfortunate incident. Without a doubt, it was not the right time for it. His impression telling him that you weren't his type in women. Though, Todo kept his mouth shut for the impertinent discussions for the meantime.

Yuji gave him a blank look, he knew it was not the right time for his fanboying nature when he was holding an immensely injured woman.

"Is she friends with the tree?" The pink haired student suddenly asked, eyeing Todo in doubt but utterly puzzled by the situation as he started to mutter random conjectures over your surprising entrance, "What if she's a ticking time bomb sent by the Special Grade Cursed Spirit and---"

Aoi Todo gave Yuji Itadori a point of his hand, motioning towards your battered self who was being held by his friend, "Then don't touch her, my Besto-Friendo."

"And leave her bleeding on the ground?" Itadori asked in disbelief, his tone sounding like he was alarmed of the situation that Todo wanted to happen, "---Todo," he continued, trying to catch his attention when the brawny man's shoulders shook from laughing out loud at his friend's reaction.

He was only kidding when he found Yuji's reaction utmost comical, never believing that he actually convinced him that he was serious.

Todo reached out, showing both robust arms to Itadori and offered to help and give you to the school's doctor instead, "I'll carry her then---"

Both men halted in between their chitter-chatters, seeming to feel like they were visited by a strong sorcerer who has saved the day. They've turned their heads to confirm and straightaway knew by the amount of cursed energy they've felt from the man.

There stood the honored one, Gojo Satoru who had his hands inside his pockets, standing tall as he wore his black blindfold. His moisturized lips inscrutable for them to know what he was thinking, though deep inside, there was no doubt that they were thinking that he wanted to give a remark over something because the Sensei never runs out of anything to say.

Surprisingly which was unconditionally enough to bowl over on, all they've gotten from him was a call of their name.

"Todo, Yuji." Satoru nonchalantly acknowledged, offering them a smile and bringing them to their attention. They were thinking that he was wondering who was the bleeding woman in his student's arms.

However, they had no idea that the Jujutsu Sorcerer knew your arrival beforehand.

"Hai, Gojo-Sensei." Itadori acknowledged his teacher with a respectful tone, turning at least ninety degrees to show the harmed woman in his arms, "She appeared out of nowhere, going through some type of dimensional-teleportation technique---" he was cut off by Todo who immediately questioned his theories.

"Is there even---" Itadori interrupted back, shrugging to himself as Gojo began to stroll towards where they stood, "Other than Gojo-Sensei who can warp in a definite amount of distance? No." he sounded rest-assured and continued his assumptions, "---But, in the movies, Yes. I guess."

Without even lifting a part of his blindfold, the strongest sorcerer knew then and there that the woman Yuji Itadori was holding is you, yet he felt like his own assurance held no concrete evidence because he knew himself that there was something different with the battered girl who was breathing on his student's arms versus the woman he met when he travelled in a dimension he hardly knew about.

A very strange one if Gojo Satoru was honest. It looked like you were living in a foreign world or a movie he could make Yuji watch for hours and actually learn how to fight using swords and those weak looking weapons.

He could hear your shallow breathing. You were breathing. You weren't dead. But, you could be if he stalled long enough.

You better not be dead when you actually knew what was going to happen in the future with just one touch to his face because your words were entirely accurate. There actually has been gatecrashers in the midst of the Goodwill Event, knowing Gojo---he doubted at first and never believed a single thing. However, after everything that has happened, he was convinced that the woman he met back then was a forecaster of the future.

Hence, this wounded woman happened to look exactly the same as her.

Though, he could feel it---doubted that this woman who was badly injured is the same person who he met back in that particular dimension.

"Is she teamed up with the cursed-spirits? Or just a non-sorcerer?" Todo was engaged in the conversation with Yuji, eyeing his friend and the woman in his arms, "---She should be dead then."

Aoi Todo was responsive enough of the surprising, self-effacing sensei who seemed to be lost in his own thoughts. He was also confident enough to call him out in between his abnormal silence and wanted to try and pry. "Oi, oi, oi!" the beefy man burst out with a grin as he was keeping an eye on Gojo Satoru who kept to be reticent, "Ha! well, this is a first---" A pause. "---Some dirt caught in your blindfold or something?"

"Yuji," Gojo repeated for the second time, weirdly unresponsive of Todo's razz as he retrieved his hands out of his pockets and tried to catch his student's attention who seemed to be like he was also lost in his own thoughts. He noticed how his teacher was motioning him to place you in his arms. Itadori blinked twice towards Satoru's outstretched arms and onto the bleeding woman who was unfortunately, you.

"Huh---right, Sensei." His student finally responded, willingly and carefully placing you in Gojo's long arms.

"I'll get her to Shoko."
